Translating Your AGHTM Mission to Other Aircraft

So you just built an awesome AGHTM mission and you are thinking about maybe sharing it with others, or at a minimum, you simply want to fly it in other aircraft. This section will walk you through the quick process of converting your AGHTM mission from one aircraft to another, including updating mission briefing information and possibly setting navigation radio presets, depending on which helicopter you decide to make your transport aircraft. While AGHTM was designed for the currently available helicopters that can perform transports, specifically, the Mi-8MT, Mi-24P, UH-1H and UH-60L, but will work for non-transport helicopters like the Gazelle or the Apache. It will theoretically work for any aircraft, even fixed wing aircraft (Long Haul transport sorties in the Hercules? Sign me up!) and AGHTM is future proof for when additional helicopters are released (I'm looking at you Chinook!).

The supported aircraft listed above fall into three groups, based on the level of effort that is required to convert your mission to that aircraft. The easiest are the UH-1H and UH-60L, as they only require you to change the aircraft, and add simple mission briefing information. The second group contains the Mi-8MT and the Mi-24P. These additionally require you to edit the navigation radio presets, and add that same mission briefing information. The Mi-8MT has some additional considerations that we cover in the tutorial below. The final group is what we would generically call the unknown as we do not know the nuances of whatever aircraft you decide to add AGHTM to. At a minimum, you will need to swap out the aircraft for your aircraft of choice, and update mission briefing information as it would apply to your scenario.

All of the mission briefing information can simply be copied and pasted from the respective text files located in the AGHTM Download. For the unknown group, you can likely figure out what to do for your aircraft in terms of creating the mission briefing, whether you need to create waypoints, add navigation radio presets, etc.

Tutorial: Translating Your AGHTM Mission to Other Aircraft

This tutorial will show you the process we use at Amoeba Games to convert our missions to the other supported aircraft. We initially build our missions for the UH-60L just out of habit. After the mission has been completely built, and we are ready to release it, we make a copy for each aircraft we intend to support with the mission, and rename them accordingly. Next we do the UH-1H, followed by the Mi-24P, and finally the Mi-8MT, as there is usually one more step that needs to be taken, if you are using certain starting or landing object types (like the science vessel used in many of the missions in the mission bundles).
